We integrate modern digital technology with the Albany's other facilities to create a 21st century arts venue. From free wireless internet access in the café to a 48 track pro tools studio recording live from stage, an edit suite, cameras and laptops our digital facilities offer a comprehensive resource. It delivers projects and courses for young people, offers a wide range of project-based support, flexible work-based training for adults and high-level professional hire facilities.

Recording Studio (“Protools Studio”)
For audio recordings – eg orchestras, bands.

This can be hired for £150 per day (discounted to £120 for charities). It can be hired either in isolation e.g. for mixing a pre-recorded session, or in conjunction with other spaces e.g. Theatre, Rehearsal Studio to record live sounds. The Albany can also provide a specialist audio technician.

Cameras, Filming and Equipment Hire
The cameras are Sony PD150’s, and are hired out at a rate of £35+VAT per day.

Hirers are responsible for the equipment, and should take out their own insurance for the duration of the hire. We take payment in advance along with a £250 deposit to cover the insurance excess in the event of any damage to the equipment.

Mobile Cinema
The Albany has a screen, projector and PA system available to hire, either as a complete package or individually (NB the equipment as a whole is very bulky to transport).

For insurance purposes you will need public liability and equipment insurance, and a suitably qualified technician. Otherwise we will need to send one of our own technicians with the equipment.

The projector, sound system and screen can be hired for £95 per day (+VAT). Any transport costs – taxis/van hires - are also recharged. Technicians are charged at £14 per hour (+ VAT)

Edit Suite
Contains four powerful macs with software for editing and manipulating video footage. These are available for hire at £20/hour (£100/day) for the whole room, or £5/hour per station. We usually require that a technician is hired with the space to provide technical support.
