Circus Bites
Circus Bites
A selection box of bite-size circus treats from light and funny to wickedly subversive. Hosted by Dusty Limits and Tricity Vogue with performances from Acrojou, Leo and Yam, Mimbre, Ockham's Razor, Gemma Palomar and more.
With aerial circus, acrobatics, theatre and dance, this is more than cabaret.
Acrojou Circus Theatre is the UK’s leading German wheel duo. Through unusual acrobatic skills and spectacular design, they create visually stunning choreography that defies both gravity and convention.
Leo and Yam specialise in aerial circus on ropes, silks and trapeze. Ranging from playful to subversive, their highly theatrical acts explore the age-old theme of love and relationships.
Mimbre is a contemporary acrobatic trio that challenge circus stereotypes by fusing world-class acrobatics with theatre and dance, using a unique physical language to tell stories.
Ockham’s Razor is a critically acclaimed aerial theatre company, specialising in creating physical theatre on new pieces of aerial equipment. Their award winning duet Memento Mori is performed on a suspended metal frame. It is based on Holbein’s woodcuts of “The Dance of Death”, where death is a skeleton that dances each of us to our grave.
Gemma Palomar combines circus, theatre and dance to create unique performances that are influenced by hip hop and Chinese Pole. She was previously part of hip-hip circus crossbreed The Silver Tree.

Beyond Circus
Circus Bites is part of the Beyond Circus mini-fest curated by Albany Associate Artist Vicki Amedume exploring the brilliance and diversity of contemporary circus. To find out more click here.
Join us for the closing party of the Beyond Circus Season after Circus Bites on Wednesday 13 April.
An event that brings together music makers, DJs and young circus artists to explore the meeting point between these art forms. The party will be the culmination of work lead by Upswing with a group of young people aged 14-21.
