Future Fusion

A 2012 Cultural Skills Project to launch careers in technical theatre and event management for 20 young people aged 16 to 25.

 

Six months of in situ training culminating in a festival of performance event programmed and managed by the technicians, producers and event managers of tommorrow.

 

All made possible by the  2012 Cultural Skills Fund from the London Development Agency and the Arts Council of England.

Our Scene

Our Scene is the name Heart n Soul gives to everything we do with young people with learning disabilities aged 14-25 years. It is made up of The Squidz Club, where young people get to showcase their work and creative training sessions called Do Your Own Thing which happen on Saturdays leading up to The Squidz Club and offer young people new to the arts training in music, dance, drama or digital arts as well as media and technical skills training. Young people also take control and help make decisions in the Our Scene steering team.

Pregnancy Yoga

8 week courses suitable for women from 12 weeks pregnant onwards.


7pm -9pm Mondays
£85 Classes include yoga postures appropriate and useful for pregnancy, to improve strength, tone and flexibilty, breathing techniques, relaxation and visualisation and much more.

 

This class is taught by Bernadette King BWYDip, ITECDips APM and IHM, who has been teaching yoga across London and abroad for 20 years. She specialises in teaching pregnancy yoga and is also a member of FEDANT, REPS and EMBODY as well as the BWY, and has taught active birth workshops to midwives and NCT teachers. She also teaches Birthing Workshops and Baby Massage and is a qualified massage therapist and Reiki practitioner.

Mum & Baby Post Natal Yoga

6 week courses £65, suitable for mums with babies
up to 6-7 months old.

 

Fridays 10.30am - 11.30am

For mums the focus is on toning core muscles and increasing energy levels as well as promoting relaxation. Babies enjoy the songs with movemnets, which stimulate the circulatory.

This is a natural progression from post natal yoga and has lots of singing and movement suitable for babies with more mobility-crawlers, standers and toddlers.

RollingSound Smartmove Programme

RollingSound are delivering a creative multimedia programme for NEET Young People aged 14-19 with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities OR no qualifications to help them gain entry to employment or education through achieving a Bronze Arts Award in Music Production or Games Design and up to a Level 1 City & Guilds Certificate in Numeracy & Literacy.

 

The course runs for 6 weeks starting on Tuesday 5th January, Tuesday 16th February, Tuesday 30th March, Tuesday 11th May, Tuesday 22nd June 2010, Tuesday 3rd August & Tuesday 21st September. The Young People use Fruity Loops software to create their own tracks and First Person Creator Software to make their own game as well as tasks such as event planning, budget management and self promotion to enhance their Numeracy & Literacy skills.

 

Course times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 11am – 2.30pm

Fairweather Dance School (FDS), now run by a mother and daughter team, was established in Northampton over 30 years ago teaching dance with a classical foundation to children and students. FDS aims to foster musicality, creativity, techinical ability, performance skills, self discipline and above all self confidence in a calm secure environment. The classes are based around The Royal Academy of Dance and National Association of Teachers of Dance sylabi working towards examinations as the children progress.

Show Don't Tell Collective is the Albany’s new writing collective, mentored by Albany Associate Artist, Polarbear, spoken word artist and theatre maker.

 

If you have the drive to create a story and see it produced and performed at a professional level, this is your chance to make it happen.


You will be supported to create your own characters, stories and scripts that will be presented at the Albany in June alongside Polarbear’s new show, RETURN, at the end of its UK tour on the 9th/10th June 2010.

 

You will be given full production support and guidance from the Albany as well as opportunities to meet industry producers, writers and artists.

 

What will I achieve from Show Don't Tell Collective?
A chance to make your work at a professional level, be mentored by a professional artist, meet industry professionals and be a part of a creative collective.

If you would like a chance to be a part of the collective, come along to the taster session on Thursday 18th Feb, 5.30pm - 8pm 10 people from the taster session will then be selected to join the collective.
