Tribute to Jenny Harris
Farewell to an old friend.
Everyone at the Albany was very saddened to hear of the death last week of the inspirational Jenny Harris, who was a former Director of the Albany, and responsible for much of its success in the 1970s and 1980s. Jenny's vision and leadership had a deep impact on many people and set the principles that inform much of the work of the Albany today. Jenny was mainly responsible for the Albany's current building, which was opened by Princess Diana in 1982, as well as instrumental in ensuring its current resurgence when she returned to the Albany in 2001 by leading the Art of Regeneration partnership. She will be sorely missed by many people but her legacy will live on.
We hope to announce further details of a memorial event in the near future.
