    Arun Ghosh: Arkestra Makara

Albany Associate Artist Arun Ghosh returns with his Arkestra Makara ensemble, a Pan-Asian chamber orchestra bringing together musicians from across the world as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.

Driven by a cross continental swirl of gongs, percussion, lutes and harps, Arkestra Makara perform brand new compositions and works forged from re-imagined traditional forms.

Originally created as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad celebrations, the Arkestra bring together musical and cultural influences from Japan to China via Singapore, Malaysia and the Indian Subcontinent, whilst injecting a heavy dose of contemporary London beats.
