Looking for a spoken word fix? Tune in and chill out. London’s coolest poetry night is back with an electric new line-up to be announced plus rising talent on the Open Mic.
This time featuring:
A fellow of the Complete Works programme for diversity and quality in British Poetry. His presence on the London poetry scene was first felt in 2003 when he won the Poetry Society’s Rise Youth Slam Championship (now SLAMbassadors UK) which makes him one not to miss.
An 8-piece UK hip hop ensemble with orchestral compositions that set the scene for close observations of London and the tensions to be found within it will also be taking to the stage. Their arrangements incorporate West African influenced polyphony, contemporary jazz and a range of styles that moves from golden-age to dilla-influenced hip-hop through to new sounds.
Arrive early to sign up for the open mic slots.
