Cabaret Playroom: The Big One
Cabaret Playroom: The Big One
Cabaret Playroom, a night for established artists and emerging performers to present ground-breaking works-in-progress, has become a regular fixture at the Albany… and it’s expanding!
Join us for a super-sized Cabaret Playroom in the Albany theatre and immerse yourself in cabaret in all its unpredictable, anarchic glittering glory - from drag divas to tap dancing clowns.
A riotous, joyous, outrageous night of music, comedy and performance from the stars of the Albany's Cabaret Playroom.
A liability on legs, Josephine Shaker is a syncopated bundle of clowning, tap dance and general mayhem. She has performed on a variety of stages and surfaces: from the bar at the Famous Spiegeltent to the roof of a private hotel in Italy. Her improvisational skills and almost two decades of rhythm tap experience, make for a dangerously entertaining combination.
Caped* cabaret crusader, Andrew Pepper, will be descending on Deptford for one night only, armed with his own unique brand of limby lunacy, song styling and highbrow nonsense. Expect impossibly tight trousers and the splits.**
'Andrew Pepper is a winner whatever he's doing.' Evening Standard

Lord Hicks may have been born with a silver spoon in his mouth but has been educated on the streets. An old-fashioned romantic, armed with only a ukulele and cut-glass diction he navigates 21st century life through the medium of song. His lordship has recently returned from tour in Belgium and is currently developing a one-man show to coincide with the 50th year since the partial decriminalization of homosexuality.

SHAMAR THE SHAMAN
She has been reincarnated more times than she would of liked. Her soul is deep and steeped in ancient history, she was once the queen of Egypt, but that's another lifetime. In this life, she was born in the depths of Luton Town, England.
Is she just another hopeless eccentric? Her visions always come true, just never as she has seen them. This songstress will bring you original music, original laughs and all the gold catsuit you could ever want.

Silent clown Kiki Lovechild has wowed international crowds with comedy, vaudeville and burlesque routines described by the press as 'fantastically inventive', 'hot and humorous', 'astounding' and 'burlesque with a difference!'.
