Home, love, family, everyone has that right?

The Next placement, tells the story of a 16-year-old boy called Nick, who has been living in foster care for most of his life. Having come from a troubled background with an alcoholic father and a distant mother Nick has struggled to find and follow the right path in life. His luck begins to change when he meets his new social worker Deborah Jones. Deborah, a young single mother is new to the job and a newly qualified social worker. She wants to make a change and unlike her manager, cares more about the children and the families and not the figures. Bombarded with cases Deborah manages to find Nick a home with the Lemmings. Steve and Daniel Lemmings, father and Son, have always had a close bond, and the death of Anne, his wife, has brought them closer than ever. Anne always wanted to become a foster parent and Steve made it his priority to carry out this wish. Daniel, however is not supportive of his father's decision, and begins to feels neglected and alone in his own home. The Next Placement focuses on the relationships that are formed within this industry. Portrays the struggles of the staff who work in this industry and how important this industry is and the need to find a place to call home
