    Mia: Daughters of Fortune

Fast moving, raw and eye-opening, Mia explores the truths and myths about learning disability and parenthood in today’s society.

Fast moving, raw and eye-opening, Mia explores the truths and myths about learning disability and parenthood in today’s society. Think pop culture with popcorn, science with silliness, stories with statistics. Mia challenges the often taken for granted idea of ‘being a parent’.

Mind The Gap work in partnership with learning-disabled artists to create exciting, surprising and challenging experiences for regional, national and international audiences. They return to the Albany following the acclaimed run of Contained in Spring 2016.

On Tuesday 13 March you are invited to try different art forms and find out about some of the arts organisations working with people with learning disabilities in London. The day will include workshops and sharings from leading arts organisations including Access All Areas, Corali Dance and Emergency Exit Arts.

Open to anyone with a learning disability, the day will run from 10am – 4.45pm, including theatre and dance workshops and finishing with a Tea and Trailers event. This is where arts companies who work with people with learning disabilities will share their work through presentations, performances and films.

The day is free when you purchase a ticket to Mia. Tickets can be reserved for Mia and the workshops through the Albany box office on 020 8692 4446.

If you would like further information about the workshops, or to book a presentation slot at Tea and Trailers, email Chris@mind-the-gap.org.uk or call 01274 487390.

Each performance will be followed by a post show talk.
