About
Join us for a creative and inspiring experience with artist Abigail Hammond! This expressive art workshop invites you to discover the power of self-expression by drawing in response to music, offering a unique way to connect with your emotions and creativity. Together, we will thoughtfully explore themes related to menopause in a safe, supportive space designed for reflection and open conversation.
About the Exhibition
While 50% of the population will experience menopause in some form, the other 50% are also affected — whether as loved ones, colleagues, or friends. In the past five years, significant progress has been made in breaking the taboo surrounding menopause, thanks to high-profile women in the media, the introduction of workplace policies, and the recent statutory inclusion of menopause in the NHS Women’s Age 40 Health Check. Yet, at the community level, opportunities for open dialogue remain limited.
During previous exhibitions of Abigail’s work at libraries and health centres, invaluable engagement and conversation have taken place. This exhibition features a diverse range of artwork, from abstract pieces to written word — some intense, others bold and entertaining. This workshop is your opportunity to add your own creative voice to this important conversation, while exploring and expressing the emotional landscape of menopause through art.
We look forward to welcoming you for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and meaningful discussion.
