People are invited to gather with food and fire in different sites across Deptford to share in tales from the elders, which range from folklore to the everyday to the otherworldly.
There are tales of the supernatural, journeys of treasured objects, lost fathers and found images, memories of hop picking in Kent, Deptford through the Blitz and more. The group have so many different and interesting stories to share of their lives and experiences, and are all connected through their amazing creative community in Deptford.
On the final leg of its tour the caravan arrives in the Albany’s garden on Saturday 30 September.

About Meet Me…on a caravan tour
Meet Me on a Caravan Tour was born out of earlier collaborations between Meet Me… members and co-artist/curator Sarah Phillips of Caravan Arts. These include the ‘Great Escape’ project as part of Age Against the Machine Festival, and ‘Meet Me… on the Radio’, where members shared everyday stories, migration tales, music and laughter on air during lockdown. Together with Meet Me… members and local artists, Bernadette Russell and Barbara Majek, they have engaged in workshops over the Summer, to co-devise a storytelling tour and interactive installation as part of Deptford X Festival.
