We are delighted to announce round three of Open Source Collaborations – an online collaborative arts programme with a focus on supporting, developing and platforming new work from new emerging audio-visual artists.
- ARTISTS: Audio-visual artists keen to develop their practice and create a unique piece of work with industry support
- MENTORS: Audio-visual artists who would be interested in mentoring and sharing their skills with an emerging creative
Successful artist applicants will develop their project collaboratively in four workshops in the Autumn which will take place over Zoom (Thursday 16 September, Thursday 23 September, Monday 4 October and Monday 11 October) and finished projects will be display within an exhibition.
If you have knowledge and skills to share and would like to gain experience of mentoring and collaborating with an emerging artist, you can apply to be a mentor on the project. We would love to hear from artists with or without facilitating experience, and you would receive a flat fee for your contribution to the programme.
Each artist will also receive a grant of up to £480 on their projects. We would like to encourage applications from artists from South-East London and from those under-represented in the creative arts.
After two successful round previously, Open Source Collaborations has seen the creation of a new community of artists; creative relationships formed that will last beyond the programme, as well as a broad spectrum of different art forms and different concepts; styles of work produced so far have included short film, documentary, spoken word, poetry, music and radio play.

Open Source Collaborations is a collaborative programme for emerging artists run by Foreign Body Productions and the Albany. Devised as the pandemic began, the concept is a simple one – emerging artists at any point of their development can apply with an idea for a project. If successful in their application, they will be matched with one of our list of facilitating artists who will advise and collaborate on the project. Over the course of four weeks, involving group workshops and individual meetings, a short audiovisual piece will be created.
