Young people will have the opportunity to develop their dance, theatre and performance skills by working collaboratively with peers and professional dance artists to create a new work in response to Protein’s repertoire of shows. The course will culminate in an informal performance for participants friends and family, and a film that will be broadcast on Protein’s website.
The performance will take place on 21 Feb from 4.30pm – 4.45pm.
Some experience of dance/movements will be required to take part in this course and advanced booking is essential. Please note that spaces are limited.
This course is part of a nationwide engagement project, which marks Protein’s 21st Birthday. The project has groups of all ages across the UK creating new dance works in response to Protein’s repertoire. Films of all the Protein 21 – Reimagine performances will be broadcast on Protein’s website throughout the year.
Luca Silvestrini’s Protein is one of the most distinctive voices in British dance theatre. With their own way of blending choreography, text, humour and music, Protein challenges what dance can be and most importantly, what it can do to others.
Protein believes in bringing people closer, inviting them to connect with what’s happening on stage and breaking the boundaries between watching and participating. Click here to find out more.
