Lit Kids presented by Bare Lit Festival welcomes 4-13 year olds and their guardians can join us for sessions with storytelling, singing, drawing and much more! Taking place in the morning on 4 and 5 May, Lit Kids will take place alongside the main festival showcasing the work and stories of people of colour. Events are free of charge but please book the sessions you wish to attend in advance to avoid disappointment.


Saturday 4th May

10:00 – 10.30 : Comics workshop

Join illustrator Erin Aniker as she teaches children of all ages how to translate the written word and characters into awesome artwork.
Whether it’s creating your own comics or illustrating books, Erin shares her tips and tricks.

10.45 – 11.30 : Storytelling and singing

Writer, singer and author of The Tunnels Below (2019), Nadine Wilder Palmer performs a live reading from her debut novel.
Interweaving her love of words and voices, Nadine will also be bringing along her guitar to sing for us.

Sunday 5th May

10.45 – 11.30 : Pictures that move

Bring your kids along to join award-winning author and illustrator Nadia Shireen (Billy and the Beast, 2018) for a live reading followed by some fun, live animation.

11.45 – 12.30 : Kid’s keynote

Adults and children alike are encouraged to join lawyer and activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu for an empowering talk on the importance of activism, kindness and standing up for what is right.
