A woman. Women. Her secret. A culture of shame. Colliding with a world of music, poetry and dance, one woman, among many tries to make sense of her experiences. A swan. A happily ever after… of sorts.
The Girl With Glitter In Her Eye is a cross arts piece of theatre created by an explosive collaboration of female and LGBTQIA+ artists, fusing spoken word, original music and exceptional performances to tell the story of a young woman haunted by a trauma she believes she can never overcome. To protect herself she hides her vulnerability, desperate to reassert control she manipulates the people closest to her, stunting her chance for genuine connection.
OPIA Collective will share a work in progress sharing of the show they’ve developed in their R&D residency at the Albany.
