With alumni including Moses Boyd, Nubya Garcia and Ezra Collective, renowned talent developer Tomorrow’s Warriors is known for pushing the boundaries in jazz. Focusing on local artists and presented by ‘Godfather of UK Jazz’ Gary Crosby, this line-up is a celebration of young talent and will reveal what these creatives have been cooking up during this unprecedented pause in live gigs.
Maddy is a tenor saxophonist currently in her second year studying jazz at the Guildhall School of Music. Taking up the saxophone aged 14, she has learnt under the mentorship of Binker Golding, Gareth Lockrane and Alex Davis. Her music draws inspiration from saxophone greats such as Sonny Rollins, Don Byas and John Coltrane, but she is also influenced by modern artists like Melissa Aldana and Joel Ross. With a growing reputation as both a composer and a band leader, Maddy has performed at renowned jazz venues across London including Vortex Jazz Club, Pizza Express Soho and Ronnie Scott’s.

Xvngo is a pioneering saxophonist and producer at the forefront of the jazz drill and post-trap genres. With experience playing in the bands of Joe Armon-Jones, KOKOROKO and Levitation Orchestra, his solo project fuses classical, trap, jazz, drill and hip-hop to produce a new sound which is distinctively South London. Xvngo’s music also reflects on timeless intellectual conundrums, ranging from the cutting edge of neuroscience to ancient philosophical dilemmas. It is a music for the mind caught in an endless pursuit of knowledge.
