Are you an artist or creative seeking a new career opportunity?
The Albany’s Facilitator Training Programme gives young Lewisham based creatives and artists the opportunity to develop practical facilitation skills, gain hands-on experience working with young people, and make an impact in their community.
Over 5 training days, delivered across two weeks, participants will build the skills and confidence needed to deliver creative workshops for young people in a range of community settings.
After completing the training, participants will be paid to deliver workshops in our weekly youth takeover Come As You Are.
This unique opportunity allows creatives and artists to develop their potential, get hands-on paid experience delivering workshops, and build a pathway into the creative industries.
Trainee Facilitators will:
- Full enhanced DBS check
- Get 4 days of FREE training – and get paid to do it
- Develop practical facilitation skills, knowledge and confidence working with young people
- Receive mentoring and support with your career progression
- Get paid work experience delivering workshops with young people
- Join our freelancer pool and get access to ongoing paid opportunities with us
You must be a resident of Lewisham aged between 17 and 25 to apply for this opportunity.
You must already have a creative practice or be a practicing artist as this programme is about developing your skills to facilitate and share your skills with others.
Your practice can be in ANY medium EG: Visual (painting, drawing, video, photography), Mixed Mediums/Sculpture, Performance Making, Live Artist, Drama, Musician, Sonic Artist, DJ, Dancer, Creative Writer, Poet, Screen Writer, Comedian, Clown, Drag Artist – this list is not exhaustive.
Training will include Safeguarding, Boundaries, Facilitation Skills, Intro to Inclusive Practice and Entrepreneurial Admin

16 June – Deadline to apply
19 June – Find out if you are successful for the informal interview
24 June – Attend an informal interview with our Youth Co-producers
14 - 16 July – Training
21 - 22 July – Training
August/September - Meet with the producers and session plan / start to market your workshops (1 day in person and then in your own time as you wish)
