The building is usually open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturdays. Sunday and evening closing times depend on show schedules and might change. If you’re unsure of our opening hours on a specific day, please call our Box Office on 020 8692 4446.
If you have mobility requirements or use a wheelchair
The Albany’s Box Office, theatre, studios and café are all on the ground floor, as well as some of our meeting rooms. We also have fully accessible toilets on the ground floor and lift access to the first floor meeting rooms, offices and bar.
Our garden can be reached through double doors in our café.
Limited disabled parking is available to the rear of the building and there is also free on street parking on Watson’s Street, Octavius Street and Frankham Street.
Deptford Station has lift access.
We can accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs in all of our performance spaces. Please inform box office when you book so we can make provision for this and reserve your space.
If your mobility requirements necessitate someone to assist you with your trip to the Albany, we can arrange a complimentary ticket for your companion.

If you are blind or have a visual impairment
Guide dogs can be brought into any of our spaces or left with our staff during a performance.
We can reserve you an easily accessible seat in all of our performance spaces or, if you’d like, an usher can help to guide you to your seat, just ask our box office when you book.

There is an induction loop at our Box Office and reception for hearing aid users.
Hearing dogs can be brought into the auditorium or left with our staff during a performance.

Once you’re here…
As you enter the building you will see the Box Office and reception on your right. From here you can buy and collect tickets or find out where you should be going if you’re coming for a meeting or to visit someone.
If you are attending a meeting here or visiting one of our resident companies and are unsure where to go, please ask any of the front of house team who will be more than happy to help.
If you’re coming to watch a show, the entrance to the theatre is on the right of the foyer. Doors usually open about 15 minutes before the start time when you can take your seats for a performance. If you’re watching a show, these will be staffed by our front of house assistants, who wear black t-shirts with the Albany logo on them. The way we set up our seating regularly changes, seats might be in rows or in a circle, so they are all unreserved and you can sit where you like.
For a performance we usually recommend arriving 15-30 minutes prior to the start time so you can get a drink and make yourself comfortable.
You can buy a drink or snacks in our café through the automatic doors on the left of the foyer. You can also buy lunch in our café if you’re here during the day.
Ladies toilets are on the right of the foyer and men’s toilets are situated on the left with accessible toilets next to both.
If you would like to use the internet during your visit, there is free wi-fi in our café. Ask our Box Office or café staff for the password.
Throughout the year we aim to programme a number of relaxed performances to our family theatre shows for children with Autism, Asperger’s or other learning disabilities. These performances are designed to be more relaxed with the option to leave and re-enter the theatre at any time. We make sure the lights don’t get too dark and the sounds aren’t too loud. If it all gets a little too much, there is also the option to use our ‘chill out’ room with games and space to move around and make noise.
