The Making of Driving Home
FAQs
Driving Home is an intimate, 15-minute film installation created by Dante or Die. It takes place inside a stationary black cab, with the film projected onto the front windscreen and side windows. The cab sits within a specially designed gazebo with Driving Home branding on it.
The film explores migration and a changing nation through the perspectives of five taxi drivers from around the UK.
The installation will be in the garden at the Albany.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your booked ticket time. Because screenings run on a precise timetable, arriving a few minutes early ensures our team can check you in without missing any of the film.
Due to the short, fixed duration of the screening (15 minutes), latecomers cannot be admitted once a slot has started. If you miss your time, please speak to a staff member and we’ll do our absolute best to accommodate you in a later slot if space allows.
The film itself runs for approximately 15 minutes. Your total visit will take around 20 minutes from arrival to finish.
Yes! The gazebo is fully covered and sheltered from rain, and you sit in the back of the cab to watch the actual film.
Wheelchair Access: The cab is accessible for one wheelchair user per screening.
Seating: Comfortable seating is provided inside the cab.
Content/Sensory: If you have specific access queries or sensory needs, please email access@thealbany.org.uk, call 020 8692 4446 or speak to staff at the gazebo before your session.
Access: The film is subtitled throughout.
