About the project

Have you ever wanted to have your say on what's programmed at the Albany?

We want to hand over more programming power to our local communities, so we’re putting our money where our mouth is. Pizza & Pitches offers local people the chance to pitch a project or idea for the chance to win £1000 of funding and producing, space and marketing support from the Albany to bring it to life.

Previous winners have included Gay School, a camp classroom exploring feminist theory; an art exhibition created by Latin American elders; a children’s theatre show touring libraries; and a tap dancing and storytelling mash up extravaganza.

Pitches are shortlisted by a panel made up of our participants and members. Then, the five highest scorers get the chance to do their pitch in front of a live audience, we all vote, eat pizza, and celebrate the winner!

Feedback

I’d say: if you have an idea, especially one that connects with the community - go for it! Even if it’s still forming in your head. It’s a really supportive environment, and even just the process of applying helped me grow the idea.
