As part of the What Are Statues For? event, join our two-hour workshop to develop poetic responses to statues of Empire. In this workshop you will learn techniques to develop your craft and hone your poetic voice.

We will ask questions about poetry’s specific ability to communicate ideas and feelings and we will look at different ways of reading and writing poetry in a collaborative atmosphere

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 9–18 November 2023.

Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. For further information please see beinghumanfestival.org.
