Meet Me at… takes place at the Albany, around Lewisham at sheltered accommodation sites and beyond. It brings formerly lonely or isolated older people together to work with artists to learn or rediscover creative skills, make friends and have agency over their social lives.
The heart of the programme is Meet Me at the Albany – a weekly arts and social club at the Albany – it also includes a choir, gardening activity, a film club, very special 21st Century Tea Dances, a club for trips and adventures all over London, a Dementia Friendly film and movement club in Downham and befriending projects.
- All Meet Me activities are currently taking place in people’s own homes – by phone and by post
- We do not expect to be able to meet together, in person, until at least October 2020
- We will review this regularly, and expect to issue an update in mid-August
- In the meantime, we will continue to stay in touch by phone, by post, online and by radio. Please get in touch if you have any questions firstname.lastname@example.orgemail@example.com or 07860 740033 / 07981 16493
The Meet Me programme is produced by Entelechy Arts and the Albany, in partnership with Lewisham Council. We also work with Lewisham Homes running creative sessions for residents in a number of their Independent Living Schemes across the borough.
All of the programme is free or very low cost, we can provide transport and we have lots of support for people with a variety of health conditions, including dementia, to take part.
